Decorative artistry is an art form that can be applied to many surfaces. As skilled artisans, we understand various surfaces, color, composition, and have years of training with access to products that only industry professionals have...everything necessary for beautifully executed design. We keep up on new techniques and trends, but also listen to our clients' wants and needs, and together, we come up with a design solution that makes the most sense.
Floors can be a real showstopper. Handpainted and stenciled for an authentic look.
After 34 years, the homeowners wanted to lighten up the look of their existing fireplace. This limewash technique brought out all of the character and texture of the brick, and it's gorgeous! The concrete hearth will be painted as well.
This home is undergoing a full first-floor remodel, from earth tones to bright and modern. We were asked to recolor the fireplace stone in several soft muted colors, as well as paint the mantel in a warm white. What a transformation!
I was brought in by an interior designer to create a loft feel on this fireplace. The original fireplace was expanded (with bad mortar lines), and I needed to do quite a bit of filling and add texture, as the new brick was vastly different than the old. I then completely recolored the brick. I will add more photos after the full remodel is complete, but this one is a beauty!
A 100-year-old fireplace gets a full plaster treatment. I needed to repair and fill brick and mortar lines prior to plaster work and glazing, but this is a farmhouse focal point now. What a beauty!
This stone fireplace was handpainted in colors better suited to the new homeowners. the mantel was also given a cerused oak treatment.
A whitewashing technique brightened up the stone of this fireplace, and the concrete hearth was given a warm stain. The firebox was also cleaned and painted.
Whitewashing of brick fireplace in grey tones.
Handpainted stone fireplace, with the mantel and hearth painted in a complementary color. My client's father built this fireplace and, while they were really unhappy with the business of it, they just couldn't tear it out. I got some happy tears and hugs when finished.
We were brought in to repair some damage on the foundation of this fireplace, apply a black Venetian plaster with some texture and then polish.
These techniques not only work well to liven up brick or stone fireplaces, but are equally stunning on interior walls, as well as exteriors.
While fireplaces make a big impact, wall surfaces are the backdrops for interior spaces, whether your home, a restaurant or hotel. Decorative artistry on walls ties in the design, architecture and furnishings of a space. Walls should make a statement on their own, but not take over existing features.
One of my favorite projects to date was being a member of the decorative arts team in the redesign of the Hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica, California. I was unable to get before photos, but we troweled a beautiful lime plaster on the walls and columns in the lobby. It was a true privilege to be a part of this project, and that view!

A plain white powder bath was given a Restoration Hardware look with a custom handpainted concrete finish.
A beautiful blend of warm and cool tones of Venetian plaster in this master bath.
A feature wall in a smooth metallic plaster.
A metallic plaster was applied, in multiple soft layers, to the walls of this bathroom. A popular finish!
I glazed and created plaster finishes (over 10,000 square feet) in this large, French country-style estate. Here are just a handful of photos the architect was kind enough to send me (my clients are very private).
Decorative finishes: Wall glazing, copper finish on groin vault, plaster finish on barrel vault, textured plaster on range hood, plaster over fireplace, aging of exterior plaster of home.

Plasters are a textural element; you can feel them with your hands. Glazes add texture, but that texture is created by technique only; they are smooth finishes. Specialty finishes include various medium, including glass beads, mica and many other products. As an artist with an arsenal, in both knowledge and products, anything can be done.
